Background
THEKGA means to Support in Sepedi, an indigenous language to Limpopo, South Africa. Inspired by the beauty of nature, THEKGA products are made using Alien Invasive plant fibres, primarily Water Hyacinth, Natural and Eco-friendly raw materials.
Crafted by our passion for design and innovation, THEKGA products boost a range of hand-woven crafts, and eco-friendly products. Stricken by our love for community development, THEKGA products
are made by the women and talented artisans of the Blesbokspruit community in South Africa, a modest community within the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
THEKGA is a collective of women on a mission to change their world and the rest of the world, one small step at a time. Alien Invasive plants and plastic waste need to be removed.
Poverty stifles growth and must be eradicated. What better way, than to educate hands to weave the waste? An oasis through innovational balance that facilitates absolute change.
